Clément Lafon Placette

I defended my PhD in Orléans (France) on one of the predicted ends of the world, the 21st of December 2012. Fortunately, the world did not end that time and I could do a postdoc in Claudia Köhler’s lab in Uppsala (Sweden). I am now an assistant professor at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) since 2018.

When it comes to biology, I have always been interested in how developmental and molecular mechanisms interconnect with micro- and macro-evolutionary processes. That is the ambition of the Plant Reproduction Evolution Lab, i.e. to be a bond between plant reproduction biology and the study of mechanisms affecting population genetics and speciation.

Besides biology, I am interested in diverse social sciences, as well as performing arts. I am involved in an art project.
